The President of the African Democratic Change (ADeC), Moses Mayekiso extended condolences to
the families and friends of the heroic firefighters who tragically died battling a fire at the Bank of
Lisbon on September 05th, 2018 in Johannesburg and who were laid to rest this weekend.

“Our thoughts today are with the bereaved families of firefighters Khathutshelo Muedi, Simphiwe
Moropane and Mduduzi Ndlovu. We offer our heartfelt sympathies and mourn with our fellow
citizens during this unspeakable loss. Our sons of the soil have served their city and country well.
Their efforts in saving the lives of others exemplify their diligent service to the ideals of patriotism
and uBuntu,” Mayekiso said.

“This is indeed a devastating time for our fire and emergency services. It also serves as a harsh
reminder of the dangers faced by fire crews as they give their lives to keep our communities safe.
The blessed memory of our brave firefighters Simphiwe Moropane, Khathutshelo Muedi and
Mduduzi Ndlovu will stay forever in our hearts. Lala ngoxolo,” said the ADeC Leader.
